Cinnamon bark essential oil is steam-distilled from the bark of Cinnamomum zeylanicum. It is reddish-brown, with a characteristic warm, sweet and spicy scent; its main aroma compounds include cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, linalool and beta-caryophyllene.
A strong middle note, cinnamon bark is usually used in small amounts in blends to add depth and warmth, suiting cooler seasons, restaurants and festive areas. Part of Om’s essential-oil collection.
